Renewable energy growth accelerates as Uzbekistan records sharp rise in output
Electricity generated by solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan increased by 203 percent in February 2026 compared with the same period last year.

According to the Ministry of Energy, large solar photovoltaic power plants produced 371 million kWh of electricity in February, while wind power plants generated 444 million kWh.
As a result, total electricity production from renewable sources reached 815 million kWh during the month.
This figure is 413 million kWh higher than in February 2025. During the same period last year, solar and wind power plants produced a combined 401 million kWh of electricity, including 265 million kWh from solar stations and 136 million kWh from wind facilities.
According to the ministry, the growing share of renewable energy sources is helping expand the production of environmentally friendly electricity within the country’s power system.
