Warm weather prompts end of centralized heating in Tashkent
The Tashkent city administration has announced that the phased conclusion of the heating season will begin on March 24. The decision comes as a result of the consistently warm weather and stable temperatures established across the capital.

According to the city administration’s press service, the move is a response to several days of comfortable outdoor temperatures, which have significantly reduced the necessity for centralized heating in residential and public buildings.
While the transition is set to begin next week, the administration emphasized that heat supply will be maintained throughout the upcoming public holidays to ensure continued comfort for residents.
"Air temperatures have remained at a comfortable level for several days, allowing for a gradual reduction in the demand for centralized heating," the city administration stated in an official communication. "Taking into account the current stabilization of temperatures, the city is moving toward a planned conclusion of the heating period."
The phased approach is intended to prevent sudden temperature fluctuations within residential properties and to ensure the overall stability of the city’s engineering systems. Urban utility services will operate in an enhanced mode during the holiday period to manage the transition.
"At the same time, constant monitoring of weather conditions and the functioning of heat supply systems will be ensured, with readiness for prompt response if necessary," the administration added.
The current heating season in the capital began on November 3. For comparison, the previous heating season lasted from November 7, 2024, to March 18, 2025.
