Gov’t targets $5 billion in tech exports through new Enterprise Uzbekistan brand
A specialized legal framework designed for the International Center for Digital Technologies, operating under the Enterprise Uzbekistan brand, will remain in force until the year 2100. This long-term commitment was stressed during a presentation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 25.

The center aims to provide a high-tech ecosystem where global standards and local innovation meet. By offering a stable, century-long regulatory horizon, the government seeks to reassure international investors and tech giants of the country’s predictable business environment.
The center will implement a "regulatory sandbox" mechanism, allowing companies to test and deploy cutting-edge digital solutions in a controlled environment. Key features of the special regime include:
- Currency flexibility: Permission to pay employee salaries in foreign currency.
- Labor standards: The adoption of international labor standards to attract global talent.
- Data management: Processing personal data based on international cloud technology standards.
- Intellectual property: Enhanced protection for innovations, startups, and export–oriented products.
To further bolster competitiveness, residents of the center will benefit from significant customs and tax exemptions, creating a frictionless environment for research and development (R&D).
The operational focus of Enterprise Uzbekistan will center on artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, certification, and the establishment of advanced data centers. The government has set ambitious targets to be achieved by 2030:
- Attracting up to 1,000 international companies to the center.
- Creating more than 300,000 new jobs in the digital sector.
- Reaching an export potential of $5 billion.
The presentation noted that several major international technology corporations have already expressed keen interest in the initiative.
