Tashkent man caught red-handed taking $75,000 to "arrange" US business visa
Law enforcement officers in Tashkent have apprehended a man who allegedly promised to secure a United States business visa for a citizen in exchange for a staggering $75,000.

The arrest was carried out during a coordinated operation by the Sergeli District Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office, alongside other law enforcement agencies. According to the department's press service, the suspect, identified as Sh. A., claimed he could facilitate the visa process through high-ranking acquaintances.
The suspect was caught red-handed while receiving the full amount of $75,000.
Fraudulent employment scheme in Navoi region
A similar incident was reported in the Khatirchi district of the Navoi region. Authorities there detained the head of a private company, "T. L.", who allegedly promised a citizen employment in Bulgaria. The individual was taken into custody while receiving $3,000 in exchange for the promised job placement.
In response to these incidents, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant sections of the Criminal Code, specifically:
- Article 168 – Fraud
- Article 211 – Bribery
Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the full scope of these illegal activities. Authorities continue to warn citizens against seeking "facilitation" services for visas and overseas employment from unofficial sources, as these often lead to significant financial loss and legal repercussions.
