FIDE April update: Abdusattorov retains world number four as Sindarov nears top 10
Five Uzbek grandmasters have featured in the world’s top 100, according to the April 2026 rankings released by FIDE.

Magnus Carlsen continues to lead the global list with a rating of 2840, followed by Hikaru Nakamura (2810) and Fabiano Caruana (2793), who retain their top-three positions. Among the Uzbek players, 21-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov is ranked fourth with 2780 points, firmly placing him among the world’s leading players.
Javokhir Sindarov, 20, is officially ranked 11th in the April update with a rating of 2745. However, following a highly successful start to his campaign in the FIDE Candidates Tournament, his live rating has surged to 2753.5. This performance has propelled Sindarov to 8th in the live world rankings.
Further down the list, Nodirbek Yakubboev is ranked 36th with 2689 points, while Rustam Kasimdzhanov holds 48th place with 2662. Shamsiddin Vokhidov rounds out the Uzbek presence in 79th place with 2641 points.
