According to the Kazakh publication kz24.news, the document was adopted during a meeting of the Council for Interparliamentary Cooperation.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, emphasized that developing cooperation with Uzbekistan remains a strategic priority. He noted that this partnership spans political and economic interaction as well as cultural and humanitarian ties, with tourism emerging as a key sector for bringing the two nations closer together.

The newly signed plan outlines specific measures to promote regional tourism and establish a unified tourism route. This initiative is designed to allow international travelers to visit both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan within a single trip, significantly increasing the region's overall attractiveness and simplifying travel logistics.

Talgat Gazizov, head of the national company Kazakh Tourism, pointed out that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan already account for more than half of all tourist flows in Central Asia. He stated that the growing interest in transboundary routes provides a unique opportunity to expand cooperation and further increase visitor numbers.
