Data released by the Credit-Information Analytical Center reveals a rapid acceleration in the adoption of this financial safety tool, which allows individuals to temporarily or permanently block the issuance of loans, microcredits, and credit cards in their name.
The demographic breakdown shows that men account for 58% of the users (1,283,506 people), while women make up 42% (924,247 people). Interestingly, the service is most popular among younger generations, with those aged 26-33 representing 31% of total users. This is followed by citizens under 26 and those in the 36-45 age group, both accounting for 24% of the participants. Older age groups show lower adoption rates, with those aged 46-55 at 12% and those over 56 at 9%.
Statistical analysis highlights a sharp upward trend over the past year. In July 2025, only 33,000 people had utilized the service. This number rose to 149,000 in October and reached 438,000 by the start of 2026. The subsequent jump to over 2.2 million in just three months represents a more than four-fold increase since the beginning of the year.
This surge in demand is largely driven by the rising threat of cybercrime. Over the last five years, cyber-related thefts in Uzbekistan have exceeded UZS 1.9 trillion, with roughly 4% of those crimes involving the unauthorized processing of online loans. By voluntarily entering their names into a restricted register, citizens can prevent credit agreements from being finalized without their knowledge or participation. The service is provided free of charge, with no limits on how often a ban can be set or removed.
Residents can manage their credit ban status through various digital and physical platforms. Online options include the Credit-Information Analytical Center mobile application, the bureau's website, and the MyGov portal (my.gov.uz). For those preferring offline methods, the service is available through the bureau’s call center and all Public Service Centers across the republic.
