Russia to increase oil and gas supplies to Uzbekistan
Russia intends to increase its supplies of oil and natural gas to Uzbekistan and will also take part in modernizing the country’s energy infrastructure, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

“Agreements have been reached to continue supplies of Russian oil and natural gas, and to increase their volumes,” Mishustin noted during talks with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
Energy cooperation remains a key area of bilateral ties. Alongside expanded hydrocarbon deliveries, Russia is involved in upgrading Uzbekistan’s energy infrastructure, including drilling new wells, modernizing processing facilities, and improving the gas transmission system.
Trade between the two countries rose 12.5% in 2025 to nearly RUB 1 trillion. Moscow and Tashkent aim to raise annual mutual trade to $30 billion by 2030.
Aripov said energy cooperation was developing steadily, adding that the planned construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region based on a Russian design marked a new stage in the partnership.
The volume of the increased oil and gas supplies was not disclosed. The next key meeting to discuss joint projects will be the Tashkent International Investment Forum in June 2026.
