Which banks in Uzbekistan offer Mastercard
In Uzbekistan, Mastercard is issued by state-owned, private, and digital banks. Most offerings are debit cards, but issuance terms, fees, and available classes differ from bank to bank.
The presence of Mastercard in a bank’s product lineup does not mean identical conditions. The range of cards, application format, and service costs depend on each bank’s policy.
This article includes only banks listed as official Mastercard partners in Uzbekistan on the payment system’s website.
Types of Mastercard
Mastercard cards in Uzbekistan differ by class. This does not affect the ability to pay abroad or online, but it impacts limits, service conditions, and access to additional services.
The card class itself does not guarantee the same set of privileges. Discounts, cashback, travel services, and special offers are provided by the issuing bank and depend on the specific тариф.
Mastercard classes
All Mastercard cards function the same for purchases and online payments. Cards are issued in the following classes:
- Mastercard Standard
- Mastercard Gold
- World Mastercard
- World Mastercard Black Edition
- World Elite Mastercard
Mastercard for business
Mastercard also offers Business and Corporate cards. These are issued to legal entities, linked to company accounts, and used for corporate expenses. They are not intended for personal use.
Required documents
To open a Mastercard in Uzbekistan, a passport or ID card is sufficient. The bank verifies the client’s identity based on the document and issues the card.
How to open a Mastercard online
You can apply for a Mastercard remotely via a bank’s mobile app. As an example, we рассмотрим the process in the OFB app, where the procedure is fully online and takes just a few minutes.
Step 1. Choosing a card
In the debit cards section, the user selects Mastercard and specifies:
- card type — virtual or plastic
- account currency — UZS or foreign currency
- card class — Standard, Gold, World, World Elite (if available)
The app immediately displays issuance cost, validity period, and key conditions.
Step 2. Filling in details
To apply for a card, the user provides:
- city and district
- delivery address (for a plastic card)
- phone number for SMS confirmation
The data is confirmed with an SMS code.
Step 3. Confirming terms
Before completing the application, the user:
- reviews card parameters
- confirms the тариф
- accepts the bank’s public offer terms
Without accepting the terms, the card cannot be issued. In this case, issuing a Mastercard Standard via OFB was free.
Step 4. Receiving the card
- A virtual Mastercard is issued instantly and appears in the app — details are available immediately.
- A plastic Mastercard is issued after application and can be collected at a branch or delivered, if available.
Issuance time
- Virtual card — available immediately after application
- Plastic card — 1–5 business days
Mastercard issuance cost in Uzbekistan banks
