Previously, penalty points were assigned solely based on reports from traffic police officers. Beginning this month, however, the system was expanded to automatically include violations detected by traffic cameras.

As of April 22, a total of 22,638 drivers nationwide had reached the five-point mark, which places them at significant risk of license suspension should they reach the 12-point threshold.

By the same date, only three drivers had accumulated 10 points, and no individual had yet reached the maximum 12-point limit.
