State aid announced for tuition costs of students in Social Registry families

The government has launched a new initiative to provide financial relief for students from families listed in the Social Registry. Members of such families, aged between 14 and 30, are now eligible for partial coverage of their tuition fees through the Youth Ledger Fund.

Eligible citizens can now apply for this assistance online through the My.gov.uz platform. The support specifically targets those enrolled in full-time education programs. This includes students at vocational education institutions, state and private higher education organizations, and those pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees at foreign universities and their branches operating within Uzbekistan.

According to the established procedure, the state will cover up to 50% of the annual tuition contract amount. However, this assistance is capped at a maximum of 50 times the Base Calculating Amount (BCA). The application process is designed to be efficient, with a mandated review period of eight working days.

Certain categories of students are excluded from this specific support program. The assistance does not apply to individuals pursuing a second or subsequent specialty, or those enrolled in part-time, evening, or distance learning formats. Furthermore, participants in joint educational programs and students admitted on a "super-contract" (tiered-tuition) basis are ineligible for this funding.

The application workflow involves the applicant submitting their request via the My.gov.uz portal, which is then reviewed by the "Neighborhood Seven" – a group of local officials responsible for social welfare at the neighborhood level. Upon approval, the funds are transferred directly to the bank account of the respective educational institution, provided the terms of the social contract are met.
