Presidents of Uzbekistan and Serbia discuss boosting bilateral trade volume
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vučić, on the sidelines of the World Urban Forum in Baku. The parties discussed advancing multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Serbia, following up on previously established high-level agreements.
The sides paid special attention to boosting bilateral trade, emphasizing the necessity of designing targeted cooperation programs across a wide range of priority sectors. These include machinery manufacturing, agricultural processing, chemical production, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and tourism.

Cultural and educational ties were also highlighted as crucial elements for reinforcing diplomatic relations. The presidents noted the importance of further developing humanitarian cooperation, proposing specific future initiatives such as organizing the first bilateral forum of university rectors, alongside mutually hosting cinema and culture days in both nations.
Beyond economic and social partnership, Mirziyoyev and Vučić exchanged views on pressing global issues and reviewed the scheduling for upcoming top-level diplomatic events.

During the forum in Baku, Mirziyoyev also held a separate meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Their dialogue concentrated on expanding cooperation in the transport sector, focusing primarily on executing joint transport initiatives and developing strategic international transport corridors to boost regional connectivity.
