Uzbekistan welcomes over four million foreign tourists in first four months of 2026

Uzbekistan’s tourism sector has recorded strong growth during the first four months of 2026, welcoming more than four million international visitors.

According to data released by the National Statistics Committee, 4,048,417 foreign citizens traveled to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes between January and April 2026. This represents a substantial increase of 930,800 people, or 29.9%, compared to the same period last year.

A breakdown of the arrivals reveals that neighboring Central Asian nations remain the primary drivers of the country's tourism influx. The Kyrgyz Republic topped the list of source markets, sending 1,141,581 visitors across the border. Tajikistan followed closely behind with 965,488 arrivals, while Kazakhstan took third place with 935,003 citizens visiting the republic.

Beyond the immediate region, Russia accounted for 341,842 travelers, and Afghanistan contributed 161,537 visitors. The data also highlights a growing interest from East and South Asian markets, as well as Europe and the Middle East. China emerged as a prominent source of visitors with 132,240 arrivals, followed by Turkmenistan with 108,433 and Turkey with 57,686. India and the Republic of Korea rounded out the top ten source countries, registering 16,057 and 12,145 tourists respectively.
