Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan lead foreign medical visits to Uzbekistan

More than 46,000 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for medical treatment in the first eight months of 2026, with patients from neighboring Central Asian countries accounting for the vast majority of the total.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee, 46,157 foreigners entered the country for medical services between January and August.

Citizens of Tajikistan made up the largest group, with 24,293 people traveling to Uzbekistan for treatment during the period. They were followed by visitors from Kyrgyzstan with 11,853, Kazakhstan with 7,022, Afghanistan with 1,596 and Russia with 1,225.

Another 168 foreign citizens arrived from other countries for medical purposes.

Patients from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan therefore accounted for nearly 94% of all foreign visitors who came to Uzbekistan for medical treatment during the first eight months of the year.
