President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has addressed the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, extending his congratulations to Muslims and all citizens of Uzbekistan. The president noted that Eid al-Adha serves to strengthen a sense of humanity, solidarity, and generosity within society. "The noble traditions of Eid al-Adha give us strength and inspiration in our work to foster an atmosphere of peace, friendship, and unity in our multi-ethnic country, and to support those in need – our respected elders, women, and young people," he said.

Mirziyoyev also pointed to what he described as a new chapter in efforts to study and promote Uzbekistan's Islamic heritage. He highlighted the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, and the Burhaniddin Marginani Scientific, Educational and Tourism Complex in Margilan as key spiritual projects of the New Uzbekistan era.

The address also referenced the launch this year of the Presidential Hajj Programme – a first in the country's history. Under the initiative, 100 religious scholars, elders, and community activists who have devoted themselves to public service, along with their family members, were sent on the pilgrimage to Mecca.

Mirziyoyev noted that more than 15,000 Uzbek citizens are currently performing Hajj rituals and extended his wishes for their prayers to be accepted. "We hope that these respected compatriots, upon returning from the sacred pilgrimage, will take an active part in our society as advocates of goodness and enlightenment," he said.

The president also conveyed holiday greetings to Uzbeks living abroad and noted that several public holidays have been designated in connection with Eid al-Adha this year. He closed his address with a wish for peace and prosperity, saying: "May Eid al-Adha be blessed for all of us."
