Back injury puts Masharipov’s upcoming matches in doubt
Uzbekistan national team midfielder Jaloliddin Masharipov was forced to sit out recent training sessions and friendly matches against Canada and the Netherlands during the team’s preparation camp in the United States.
According to the Uzbekistan Football Association, the player has been struggling with persistent lower back issues for several weeks. Although an initial round of targeted medication and intensive physiotherapy sessions brought temporary relief and allowed him to resume basic activities, the discomfort recently returned with greater severity.
Subsequent magnetic resonance imaging scans conducted by specialists revealed an acute recurrence of an intervertebral herniated disc. This spinal relapse completely disrupted his ability to participate in high-intensity training with the rest of the squad.
The national team’s medical department is currently supervising Masharipov’s recovery and exploring further treatment plans. Team officials stated that additional updates regarding the midfielder's condition and his projected rehabilitation timeline will be made public once the final medical assessments are fully evaluated.
