The agency said Uzbeks facing difficult situations while living or working in Russia can contact its representative office in the country. The office and its regional representatives operate around the clock and assess each case individually to provide practical support.
Where necessary, transportation costs for returning to Uzbekistan may be covered in accordance with the established procedure.

Regional representatives are also available in Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar and Vladivostok.
The agency said nearly 600 Uzbek citizens were returned home from Russia in July alone. During the first seven months of 2026, the Migration Agency assisted 2,888 Uzbek citizens who had found themselves in difficult situations abroad.
The number of Uzbek citizens travelling to Russia for employment has declined, according to statistics from Russia’s Border Service. The trend has been attributed in part to tighter migration policies and rising costs for work patents, which foreign nationals need to obtain in order to work legally in Russia.
The war against Ukraine has also contributed to the decline in labor migration to Russia. Since the start of the war, there have been repeated reports of migrants being recruited to fight in the Russian army.
The agency urged Uzbek citizens in difficult circumstances to get in touch with its representatives, saying assistance would be provided on a case-by-case basis.
