Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, to discuss the expanding bilateral partnership between the two nations.

Writing on his Telegram channel, Foreign Minister Saidov described the negotiations as candid and substantive, expressing deep appreciation to the Singaporean side for the warm hospitality extended to the Uzbek delegation. Both ministers noted with satisfaction that relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore are strengthening steadily, guided by mutual respect, trust, and shared interests.

The primary focus of the meeting centered on broadening trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The two sides explored avenues to stimulate closer interaction between their respective business communities and to increase the volume of joint commercial projects.

Looking ahead, the diplomats placed special emphasis on maintaining high-level dialogue and charting the schedule for upcoming visits at various administrative tiers. The ministers also exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues. During the talks, Saidov stressed Uzbekistan’s firm interest in expanding interregional dialogue connecting Central Asia and Southeast Asia, fostering closer practical cooperation with ASEAN, and deepening joint partnerships within multilateral diplomacy frameworks.
