Uzbekistan to host inaugural International Islamic Forum

The forum, titled Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment, will take place in Tashkent and Samarkand. It is being organized by the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan in partnership with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

The event is expected to serve as an international platform for dialogue among representatives of the Islamic world. Participants will include leading academics, religious figures, heads of international organizations, and representatives of universities, museums, libraries and humanitarian institutions from a range of countries.

Discussions will focus on the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of global science, education, culture, philosophy, art and spiritual heritage. The agenda also includes issues related to cooperation between civilizations and strengthening mutual understanding.

The five-day program features plenary sessions, international academic conferences, meetings with renowned scholars and religious leaders, visits to the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand, exhibitions of Islamic art, calligraphy and manuscript heritage, as well as press briefings for media representatives.

The forum forms part of Uzbekistan's broader efforts to preserve and promote Islamic cultural and scientific heritage.

In March 2026, Uzbekistan officially opened the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan in Tashkent, one of the largest humanitarian and educational projects in the Islamic world.
