Between January and June, civil registry offices recorded 92,300 marriages and 24,800 divorces across the country. Compared to the same period last year, the number of marriages fell by 3,000, while divorces increased by 1,500.
The figures translate into a marriage rate of 4.9 per 1,000 people. Of all marriages registered during the reporting period, 47,200, or 51.1%, took place in urban areas, while 45,100, or 48.9%, were recorded in rural areas.
During the same period, the national divorce rate stood at 1.3 per 1,000 people. Urban areas accounted for 14,900 divorces, representing 60.1% of the total, while 9,900 divorces, or 39.9%, were registered in rural parts of the country.
The latest figures continue a broader downward trend in marriage registrations. In 2025, Uzbekistan recorded 267,100 marriages, down by 4,700 compared to 2024. The number of marriages has been declining each year since 2021.
Meanwhile, the number of divorces reached 46,900 in 2025, an increase of 1,800 compared to the previous year, reflecting a continued rise in marital dissolutions nationwide.
