The unobserved economy accounted for 22.9% of the country’s gross domestic product during the first half of the year, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Household and individual activities made up the largest share, generating UZS 165.5 trillion, or 15.4% of GDP. The hidden economy accounted for another UZS 80 trillion, equivalent to 7.5% of GDP.
Across these two components, agriculture, forestry and fisheries accounted for 60.5% of total activity. Services represented 23%, construction 17.8% and industry 6.7%.
The National Statistics Committee previously reported that the gross value added of the unobserved economy stood at UZS 102.7 trillion in January–March 2026.
The unobserved economy’s 22.9% share of GDP in the first half of the year was formed by household and individual activities together with the hidden economy.
