What visa do you need for a trip to Thailand?

For a holiday in Thailand, you need a Tourist Visa (TR). A single-entry visa is valid for three months and allows you to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days. The consular fee is $40, according to the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow.

If you travel to Thailand frequently, a Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) may be an option. It costs $200 and is valid for six months. The requirements are stricter: you need a bank statement for the past three months showing a balance of at least $2,000 each month, as well as a travel itinerary and a certificate of employment.

If you are traveling to Thailand to study, work or receive medical treatment, or plan to stay in the country for an extended period, you will need a different type of visa. All visa categories and their requirements are listed on the website of the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow.

What documents do you need?

Prepare the following documents before applying:

  • a passport valid for at least six months, along with a copy;

  • a 4 × 6 cm photograph taken no more than six months before the application date. The photo must have a light-colored background, show the applicant facing the camera, without a head covering or dark glasses, with the shoulders visible;

  • fully paid round-trip flight tickets;

  • a hotel or other accommodation booking in Thailand;

  • a certificate confirming your permanent place of residence in Uzbekistan;

  • an original bank statement.

Documents must be uploaded to the Thai e-Visa system. Documents in Russian, Uzbek or any language other than English are accepted by the embassy only with a notarized English translation.

For minors, additional documents are required: a notarized copy of the birth certificate and notarized consent from the parents or legal representative if the child is traveling without one or both parents.
