Ravshan Haydarov’s side took control early in the match and opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Sardor Bakhromov’s free kick was saved by the Saudi goalkeeper, but Dilshod Murtazoev reacted quickest to the rebound and put Uzbekistan ahead.
Uzbekistan doubled its lead in the 78th minute. Following a counterattack initiated by Ruziboy Fayzullaev, Azizbek Tulkinbekov finished the move to make it 2–0.
Firdavs Abdurahmonov added a third goal eight minutes later, heading the ball into the net from a cross delivered from the right flank.
Uzbekistan had also won all three of its group-stage matches. The team opened the tournament with a 5–1 victory over the Philippines, followed by a 2–0 win over Kuwait and another 2–0 victory against Vietnam.
The result sends Uzbekistan into the semifinals, where it will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Japan and North Korea for a place in the final.
