The measure will take effect on January 1 next year and is intended to support working women raising young children.
Mirziyoyev said women’s employment helps increase household incomes while giving families greater opportunities to invest in their children’s education.
Under the new measure, the state budget will cover parent payments for children aged 2–3 who attend family-run kindergartens and whose mothers work.
The government will also expand opportunities for kindergarten staff to pursue higher education without leaving their jobs.
Starting from the next academic year, the duration of teacher-training programmes at pedagogical universities for kindergarten educators will be reduced from four years to three.
Assistant educators who have worked at a kindergarten for at least five years will also be eligible for the shorter higher-education programme.
