Uzbekistan to entrust the construction of roads in the country to the best German companies 

The President signed a decree “On measures to introduce advanced foreign methods of organizing work in the construction and operation of highways”.

The document approves top-priority issues in the field of road construction and maintenance, including creation of joint ventures with the participation of foreign companies, as well as training of new personnel in cooperation with foreign educational institutions.

Departments are entrusted to establish cooperation with leading foreign engineering companies, in particular, with German ones - Obermeyer Planen + Beraten, Lahmeyer International, Lomb Ingenieyrgesellschaft, Inros Lackner.

Another German company GP Günter Papenburg is instructed to attract in the creation of road-building organizations furnished with modern construction equipment and repair kit.

It is also stated that Germany is chosen because this country is known throughout the world for high quality of its roads and efficiency of technologies in maintaining road infrastructure.

The roadmap envisages the creation of Highways together with foreign partners from Germany, enterprises for the construction and repair of highways, as well as artificial structures with regional branches on the basis of contracting organizations of the State Committee.

In addition, participation of leading German contractors for the refurbishment of roads in the country is anticipated.

Moreover, it is planned to attract funds for projects from Germany. In particular, it is intended to study the possibility of obtaining concessional loans from German financial organizations.
