Commercial filming at Tashkent markets now subject to payment

Under the decision signed by Tashkent mayor Shavkat Umurzakov, new tariffs have been introduced for certain services offered at markets and shopping complexes in the city.

From now on, filming or photographing for commercial purposes at Tashkent’s markets and shopping complexes will cost UZS 5 million per hour. The rule does not apply to foreign tourists or media outlets.

The decision also approves new parking fees for passenger vehicles at market car parks, with higher rates set for Saturdays and Sundays:

• Up to 20 minutes – UZS 5,000
• Up to 40 minutes – UZS 7,000
• Up to 1 hour – UZS 8,000
• Up to 2 hours – UZS 9,000
• Up to 3 hours – UZS 25,000
• Up to 4 hours – UZS 35,000
• More than 4 hours – UZS 50,000

On other days, the tariffs remain relatively lower.

The new prices are explained as measures aimed at “reducing congestion near markets and regulating the load on car parks”.
