Officials of Rohat residential complex detained in major fraud case

Authorities in Tashkent have initiated a criminal case against the management of the Rohat residential complex, located in the Yashnabad district. According to sources within the internal affairs bodies, the head of the construction firm and the manager of the sales department have been taken into custody.

The suspects are accused of committing large-scale fraud, affecting more than 200 victims. Current estimates suggest the total financial damage exceeds UZS 50 billion.

Investigations reveal that the Rohat complex is being developed by Broccoli Plus LLC, a company registered in March 2020. Official records list Shohbozmirzo Hojiyev as the head of the entity, with Sadullo Nasulloyev and Aslbek Karimov as its founders.

The legal troubles for the project deepened following a court decision that placed the complex on a public auction. The move was intended to recover a $5.5 million outstanding bank debt owed by the construction firm.

The situation has sparked significant concern among hundreds of buyers who purchased apartments through equity participation. Many fear that if the property is sold at auction, a new owner could potentially resell the units to different buyers – leaving the original investors without their homes or their money.

Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the extent of the financial irregularities, while the victims await clarity on the fate of their property investments.
