The meeting focused on practical steps to further deepen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China and to expand cooperation across a broad range of sectors in line with high-level agreements.
At the start of the meeting, Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan. Both sides noted with satisfaction that, thanks to the political will and consistent efforts of the two leaders, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented level.
Trade and investment cooperation continues to grow rapidly. Last year, bilateral trade reached $14 billion and the number of joint ventures in Uzbekistan approached 5,000. Since the beginning of this year, nearly $15 billion in Chinese investment has been deployed in various projects, while the portfolio of technological partnership initiatives has neared $90 billion.

The discussion highlighted ongoing collaboration in high technologies, green and nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, transport and infrastructure, agriculture, geology, chemistry and other key areas. Contacts at all levels have intensified, regional ties are expanding, and educational, cultural and humanitarian exchanges are becoming more active.
President Mirziyoyev underscored the importance of thorough preparations for upcoming high-level events and of enriching the bilateral agenda with new, practical initiatives. He also stressed the significance of advancing the Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan–China railway project and integrating it with other transport corridors.

The two sides devoted particular attention to cooperation on Afghanistan’s socio-economic recovery and security. They also reaffirmed their commitment to close political dialogue and collaboration in multilateral formats, as well as support for university partnerships, poverty-reduction projects, tourism development and other joint efforts.
