Earlier, 44 female convicts held in the Iraqi Rosafa prison, using a video message, turned to the president with a request to help them return to their homeland, the PGO press service reported.
As it turned out, the convicted women were members of the terrorist organization ISIS and served in the ranks of this organization in Syria and Iraq.
It is noted that they were detained by Iraqi authorities in 2017, four of them received life sentences, and the rest - from 15 to 20 years.
It is reported that due to poor conditions in this prison and in accordance with an agreement with the Iraqi authorities, in 2019, 64 children of convicted women were taken to Uzbekistan and transferred to the care of relatives at their place of residence, as well as to orphanages.
It was noted that after the expiration of the sentence, the convicted women would be returned to Uzbekistan.
