MIA: Road accidents killed 265 people in Uzbekistan in January-February
In January-February 2020, 802 road accidents were registered in Uzbekistan.

The Information Service of Traffic Safety Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided information on road accidents in the country during the two months of this year.
It was reported that in January-February 2020, there were 802 road accidents in Uzbekistan, of which 255 were fatal.
In total, 265 people were killed in road accidents in January-February this year. 188 of them died at the scene and 77 died in hospitals. Another 724 people received bodily injuries.
212 of the traffic accidents were caused by pedestrians’ crossing undetermined places, 105 occurred due to driver’s failure to comply with the specified speed. In 102 cases, driver failed to see pedestrians, and in 70 cases, overtaking rules were violated.
The highest number of traffic accidents was recorded in the city of Tashkent (116), Tashkent region (109), Namangan (79) and Fergana regions (71).
