Uzbekistan sees 1.4-fold growth in foreign-invested businesses over five years
According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, as of March first, 2026, a total of 18,770 companies in Uzbekistan operate with foreign investment.
Of these, 4,365 are joint ventures, while 14,405 are wholly foreign-owned enterprises.
Over the past five years, the number of companies with foreign investment has increased 1.4 times, with the share of wholly foreign-owned businesses rising from 55.2 percent to 76.7 percent.
The top ten countries by the number of foreign-invested companies in Uzbekistan are:
- China – 5,257 companies
- Russia – 3,214 companies
- Turkey – 2,173 companies
- Kazakhstan – 1,232 companies
- South Korea – 709 companies
- Afghanistan – 653 companies
- Azerbaijan – 430 companies
- United Arab Emirates – 421 companies
- Tajikistan – 420 companies
- India – 397 companies
The data shows a steady growth in Uzbekistan’s attractiveness to foreign investors, particularly in wholly foreign-owned ventures.
