Gov’t to auction ready-to-build housing projects in Tashkent and Samarkand from October 1

Starting October 1, land plots in Tashkent and Samarkand designated for multi-story housing will be auctioned as ready-made projects, complete with construction permits, architectural planning documents, and preliminary designs.

Meeting housing demand must remain a top priority, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated during a meeting on April 14.

In recent years, UZS 4.1 trillion has been allocated to develop infrastructure for 56 “New Uzbekistan” residential areas. An additional UZS 1.4 trillion is scheduled for allocation this year. However, several housing units scheduled for completion in 2025 were not delivered, including 2,100 in the Tashkent region, 1,500 in Samarkand, 1,300 in Fergana, 1,000 in Tashkent city, and 380 in Jizzakh.

Officials and regional governors are tasked with completing 34,000 housing units in “New Uzbekistan” residential areas this year. Furthermore, ongoing developments may only be expanded once at least 85% of apartments in a given area have been handed over to their owners.

Drawing on the successful experience of Tashkent and Samarkand, authorities have established investment companies that will begin auctioning land plots for multi-story housing starting October 1. These plots will be offered alongside pre-approved permits and ready-to-use project documentation.
