Uzbek readers have planned to break the previous record on collecting the largest number of audience at a book reading on April 10, 2019 and to enter The Guinness Book of Records. The current record was set on March 3, 2018 in the state of Maharashtra, India with involvement of 6,786 people.
According to Kun.uz journalist, one of the initiators of the campaign, efforts to upgrade this record are supported by the Republican Council of Young Creators and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan. In particular, the Youth Union of Uzbekistan will provide the project with sufficient funds.
It is no coincidence that the record breaking date was chosen as April 10, 2019. This date is the birthday of the founder of the Uzbek prose – a novelist Abdulla Qodiriy. Also, the 125th anniversary of the writer will be widely celebrated in 2019. The novel “Days gone by” has been selected as a general reading book.
The event is expected to take place on the square “Friendship of nations” in Tashkent.
It should be recalled that on September 8, 2017, Uzbek chefs prepared 7,360 kilograms of mega-plov, which was included in The Guinness Book of Records.
