New head of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President appointed
Head of the International relations information-analytical Center under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Eldor Aripov has been appointed Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to a report on the institute website, First Deputy Director of the Institute was appointed Mir-Akbar Rakhmonkulov - a member of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan who was previously deputy rector for academic affairs at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Shafoat Nurullaeva and Sanjar Valiev were also appointed as deputy directors of the Institute.
In addition, Farhodbek Zufarov was appointed an adviser to the Institute director.
The Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a state research institution. The Institute was established in 1992 in compliance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The main directions of information-analytical and research activities of the Institute are as follows:
- Actual issues of internal security and sustainable development of Uzbekistan;
- Regional security issues in Central Asia, prospects of multilateral cooperation with the countries of the region;
- Current trends in international security and global development, prospects of cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan with world countries, international organizations and financial institutions.
