British Council ready to deepen educational and cultural ties with Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan's Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov met with Charlie Walker, Deputy Director-General for Global Cooperation at the British Council.

During the meeting, the British side was briefed on the large-scale changes being implemented in Uzbekistan and the process of preparing for the upcoming elections to representative bodies of state power.

Charlie Walker highly praised the reforms carried out in recent years in the field of education in our country, as well as the conditions created for young people to receive quality education and learn foreign languages.

It was noted that the British Council is interested in further expanding and strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan in the areas of secondary and higher education, as well as in the fields of art and culture.

The Deputy Director-General welcomed the upcoming international conference on the creative economy to be held in Uzbekistan from October 2-4 and stated that the British Council will provide practical assistance in organizing this event at a high level.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand the British Council's English language training programs in our country and to involve its representatives in the Central Asian Education Forum, which will take place in Tashkent from October 15-17.
