During his speech, he stated that the development of safe and shortest transport corridors connecting China with our region, with access to Europe, the Middle East and South Asia, is of strategic importance.
“The priority project for the revival of the Great Silk Road is the Trans-Eurasian Highway, the important components of which will be the “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” highway and railway. Together with our Chinese and Kyrgyz partners, we are already moving to the phase of practical work,” the head of state said.
In his opinion, in the future, the implementation of this project and the construction of the Trans-Afghan Corridor will allow, within the framework of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, to connect China with the countries of South Asia by alternative routes.
“We also consider it a top priority to ensure the integration of national programs for the development of transport communications and, on this basis, develop a single long-term strategy,” the President concluded.
