The Competition Committee has fined the company Roodell for violations in its advertisement of the Kia Sonet vehicle. The penalty was imposed due to the lack of disclosure regarding essential contract terms, including additional payments in the installment plan.

According to the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights, Roodell was held accountable for failing to comply with advertising legislation.
The Committee reported that the company’s advertisement promoted the Kia Sonet as available for purchase "with 0% interest on installments," but failed to mention key contractual terms, including extra fees, which constitutes a violation of Article 43 of the Law on Advertising.
“As a result, consumers were misled and could have made decisions based on inaccurate or incomplete information,” the committee noted in its statement.
A special commission was formed to review the case, which resulted in a fine imposed on Roodell. Additionally, the company was instructed to rectify the violations and to prevent similar issues in the future.
Roodell is the owner of ADM Jizzakh, an automotive plant that assembles and manufactures vehicles under the Kia, Chery, Haval, and Hyundai Truck & Bus brands.
The Competition Committee urged all businesses to provide accurate, transparent, and objective information, especially in advertising.
