Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Agriculture, Yermek Kenjekhanuly, met Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties in the sector, according to Zhaik Press.
The talks focused on the introduction of modern technologies, the development of sustainable farming practices and joint measures to adapt to climate change and reduce environmental risks.
The sides also discussed expanding cooperation in the processing of agricultural products, including grains, legumes and oilseeds, as well as increasing production and mutual supplies of meat and dairy products.
The Kazakh side said the implementation of the agreements would help strengthen food security, improve the competitiveness of agricultural products and expand export potential.
Kazakhstan also expressed readiness to deepen its strategic partnership with Uzbekistan through joint projects aimed at the sustainable development of the agro-industrial sector.
Kenjekhanuly also held talks with Italy’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, on expanding investment cooperation and introducing advanced technologies with the participation of Italian businesses.
