The Senate Board adopts a new decree on regulation of weddings
On August 13, at the meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the issue regarding the regulation of different traditional events, such as wedding parties, celebrations, rituals and other ceremonies concerned with the deceased, were discussed.
The source says the meeting was held by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Nig'matulla Yuldashev.
As earlier reported, based on the Decree of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on March 30, 2018, the working group of the Senate has studied public opinion on family gatherings.
After closely examining the public opinion, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis issued a Decree on June 10, 2018, “On the regulation of events regarding wedding parties, family celebrations, rituals and other commemorative ceremonies.”
In addition to other tasks, Jokorgi Kenges of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, people’s deputy councils of regions and Tashkent city were loaded with duties of starting a constant monitoring system for curbing family celebrations and ensuring that they are conducted in accordance with our national and religious values. Once the results of monitoring are announced, the specifics of each region and their traditions will be taken into account when making the final decision. All the relevant matters will be discussed on a regular basis in local councils.
In order to ensure the effective implementation of the Decree, the Senate adopted a resolution "On the establishment of commissions to regulate the family celebrations, wedding parties, rituals and other commemorative ceremonies in regional and central councils.”
The Decree also approved the Model Statutes of the commissions and their exemplary affiliates.
Encouraging people to organize their family events modestly and prevent them from excessive spending during such ceremonies, were outlined as the primary responsibilities of the commission.
In addition, the Decree proposed to establish commissions on regulation of family events in all local administrations throughout the country.
