President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdul Fattah El Sisi held talks in Kuksaroy residence on September 5. Following the negotiations, a Joint Communiqué of the two leaders was adopted.
Also, the governments and ministries of the two countries signed 12 documents on enhancing relations in the realms of tourism, investments, tax, justice, agriculture, cultural heritage and sports, foreign affairs and youth issues.
Following are the documents inked at the meeting:
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Youth Union of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of Youth Development;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of Sports;
- Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of Agriculture;
- Intergovernmental Agreement between the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of Higher Education;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of Justice;
- Agreement between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation in the field of Archeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies;
- Intergovernmental Agreement between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt Amir Nassar on avoidance of income taxation and prevention of tax evasion and denial;
- Intergovernmental Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the Program of Cooperation for 2019/2020 and implementation of visa-free regime for Diplomatic Passport Holders;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the State Committee for Investments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones of the Arab Republic of Egypt on development of bilateral Investment Relations;
- Intergovernmental Agreement between the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov and the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt Amir Nassar on cooperation in the field of Tourism.
