The Republic of Korea simplified visa regime for Uzbekistan
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan has introduced a new visa application procedure for citizens of Uzbekistan, which will be effective from Sept. 21, 2018.
"In connection with the strengthening of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, the number of visa applicants has dramatically increased, which is causing a delay in verification and issuance of visas. In 2016, 26,325 visas, in 2017, 36,141 visas and in the first 8 months of 2018 more than 30,000 visas were issued," the South Korean embassy in Tashkent said.
In order to solve these problems, the Korean embassy selected nine travel agencies which will be responsible for filing documents and issuing visas/refusals instead of the embassy. The new procedure will allow applicants to submit documents and receive ready-made visas in conveniently located authorized tourist companies, thereby saving their own time and money.
This rule applies to all citizens of Uzbekistan and foreign nationals (residing in the country), who wish to obtain a Korean visa.
From September 21 to October 1, 2018, the embassy will accept documents and issue results jointly with the authorized travel companies, and from October 2, 2018, documents will be accepted and results will be issued only through authorized tourist companies. In this regard, the embassy asks all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign nationals living in Uzbekistan to apply for visas through these authorized travel agencies.
It should be noted that the authorized travel companies are located in Tashkent and Samarkand. Reception of documents for obtaining all types of visas (except visas for official/diplomatic business trips of state bodies), as well as the issuance of ready visas, will be carried out by these travel agencies only.
