World Bank to allocate a $ 50 million loan to the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan

The World Bank announced its readiness to allocate a soft loan to Uzbekistan in the amount of $ 50 million for the development of employment promotion centers, as well as for the financing of labor market monitoring and evaluation programs, the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan reports.
The meeting between the sides was held at the Ministry of Finance in Tashkent.
Another topic of discussion at the event was the reforming of the pension system in Uzbekistan. The representatives of the World Bank said they will provide both technical assistance and expert support in the preparation of proposals on this issue until the end of the first quarter of 2019.
Earlier it was reported that the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the government of Uzbekistan signed a cooperative strategy for 2018-2021, which envisages provision of $ 1.3 billion to Uzbekistan.
