Ismatulla Irgashev meets with Markus Potzel
On October 8, 2018, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Special Representative of the Uzbek President for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Markus Potzel, Special Representative of the Federal Government of Germany for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the press service of the MFA reports.
Within the framework of the regular Uzbek-German political consultations, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the prospects for the peace process in the country.
The main attention was paid to interaction in the implementation of the provisions and recommendations of the Tashkent Declaration on Afghanistan, which was adopted on March 27 in the Uzbek capital.
The parties also discussed the issues of attracting financial resources to accelerate the implementation of projects for the construction of the Mazari-Sharif – Herat railway, the Surkhan – Puli-Khumri transmission lines, roads of various lengths and other infrastructure facilities in Afghanistan.
The importance of the German side’s participation in the educational projects initiated by Uzbekistan was also noted.
