Shavkat Mirziyoyev: BBC will be allowed to operate in Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during his visit to France that the BBC will be allowed to operate in Uzbekistan.

When BBC correspondent Ibrat Safa asked the President in Paris whether or not BBC be allowed to operate in Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoev, who had concluded his meeting with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, said with a smile “Of course, come to Uzbekistan”.

For information, BBC is blocked in Uzbekistan since 2005.

After Shavkat Mirziyoyev was elected President in 2016, the company tried to achieve accreditation but failed.
