AKFA to establish a private university

The portal, which evaluates the legislation impact, published the draft law “On the establishment of Akfa International University in Tashkent” by the President of Uzbekistan.

The initiative to establish the university was announced by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education and “Akfa Medline” LLC.

The University deals with the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of fundamental, exact, medical and humanitarian sciences, taking into consideration the specific needs of the real sector in the economy.

According to the draft law, the university will have the status of a legal entity and will be organized in the form of a limited liability company.

It is noted that the educational and methodological management and running the educational process will be provided by the university on the basis of agreements with leading foreign higher education institutions.

The trainings to be carried out in English in compliance with the curriculum and program of foreign educational institutions, taking into account the state requirements and educational standards of Uzbekistan.

The graduates will be granted a diploma of higher education.

The university carries out day-to-day education on the payment-contractual basis.

Its activity to be subsidized by founders and students who are enrolled in the contractual education.

Tashkent city administration will be responsible for turning the Shaykhantakhur medical college into the university’s new building.

Until January 1, 2022, the university is exempted from all types of taxes and compulsory payments of state-owned funds.
