Prime Minister to announce massive dismissals due to poorly organized cotton campaign
On October 14, a selector meeting on cotton harvesting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Mr. Aripov.
During the meeting, four sector leaders delivered reports on the acceleration of cotton harvesting process, mobilization of farmers to the fields, shortcomings by the responsible departments in the increment of daily harvesting and immediate actions that need to be taken to complete the harvest before the rainfall.
The event was attended by Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov, head of the Presidential Administration Zainilobiddin Nizomiddinov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zoir Mirzayev.
It was noted by the head of government that many regions have completed only 60 % of the plan set, and this figure is as low as 25-40 % in some areas.
Mr. Nizomiddinov said that in compliance with the presidential decree, disciplinary measures (dismissal, deprivation of two months' wages, rebuke) will be taken against over 100 officials and heads of sectors.
It should be stressed that several prosecutors, chiefs of police departments and tax officers have been dismissed in more than 10 districts due to the impassiveness in the cotton-harvesting perio
