Gas, electricity, gasoline prices expected to increase in Uzbekistan
The government of Uzbekistan plans to increase the cost of gas, electricity and gasoline from November 16, Kun.uz correspondent reports with reference to the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document states that the government intends to raise prices in two stages, the first one being introduced on November 16, 2018, and the second on June 1, 2019.
In accordance with the draft resolution, from November 16 the price of gas will be set as 320 sums per cubic meter, and from June 1, 2019 as 350 sums.
Tariff for electricity will increase to 250 sums per kilowatt in November, and to 280 sums in June next year.
At the same time in the country for the first time as an experiment, it is planned to introduce norms for consumption of electricity and gas. The test area of the project will be Yunusabad district of Tashkent.
Here, starting from January 1, 2019, the basic rate of electricity consumption will be 300 KW/h per month per user, gas - 1000 cubic meters per month per user for private houses during the heating season and 250 cubic meters per month per user at other times. Within the limits of these norms, the payment will be at the rates established by the state, and above the norm - using the coefficient of 1.2.
Following the results of the test project, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Uzbekenergo and Uzbekneftegaz will have to prepare proposals for the further implementation of basic standards throughout the country by July 1, 2019.
As for gasoline, from November 16, the retail price of 1 liter AI 80 will be 4000 sums (now - 3800), AI 91 - 4500 sums (4300), diesel fuel - 4800 sums and EKO diesel fuel - 4900 sums.
