Uzbek President’s Special Representative visited Iran
Uzbek delegation led by Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan, paid a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on Oct. 21-24, the press service of the MFA reports.
During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the transport and communication projects implemented in the border regions of Iran with Afghanistan. The Uzbek authorities were informed about the works being carried out at the “Khaf - Herat” railroad and shown the unique opportunities of Chabahar seaport.
Meetings and talks were also held with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the representatives of “Iranian Railways”.
The sides discussed the Afghan issue, in particular, the launch of peaceful inter-Afghan talks, as well as prospects for cooperation in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.
