CIS member countries signed 15 important documents in Astana

On November 2, member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States signed 15 documents in the Kazakh capital, the PM of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzada said during a press conference following the event.

According to him, the event was held in the traditional spirit of mutual understanding, trust and constructive dialogue. At the meeting, a wide range of issues in various areas of multilateral interaction of the participating States were considered.

“As a result of today's meeting, 15 decisions were made aimed at further expanding the cooperation of our states within the organization. We have reached an agreement on jointly developing the production of high-tech energy equipment. We have also signed an accord on cooperation between the states on preparedness in the event of a nuclear accident, the occurrence of a radiation emergency and mutual assistance in liquidating the consequences,” the head of the Tajik government said.

He added that the prime ministers of the CIS approved a plan of 140 events for 2019.

In particular, the below documents were signed:

- Agreement on the interaction of the CIS member states on preparedness in case of a nuclear accident or a radiation emergency and mutual assistance in extermination of consequences;

- Amendments to the Interstate targeted program “Reclamation of the state territories affected by uranium mining activities”;

- The cooperation concept of the CIS member states in the production development of high-tech energy equipment and the Plan of the principal measures for its implementation;

- Agreement on cooperation on the prevention and elimination of forest diseases and pests in the border areas of the CIS member states;

- Agreement on the implementation of joint activities of the CIS member states in the field of the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes;

- Protocol on the exchange of information in electronic form between the CIS member states for the implementation of tax administration;

- The procedure for the allocation of rights to intellectual property created as a result of the implementation of interstate innovation projects and activities in the framework of the Interstate program of innovative cooperation of the CIS member states for the period up to 2020;

- The order of financing the Action Plan for the implementation of the Main Directions of medico-social assistance and improving the quality of life of war veterans - participants of local conflicts and their family members in the CIS countries for the period up to 2020.

- Documents on allocations for the creation and development of a unified air defense system of the CIS member states, on financial support of the activities of CIS bodies, on the implementation of the projects signed under a unified budget of its bodies for 2017, changing the size of the assessed contributions of the member states to the unified budget of the CIS bodies and on a single budget of Commonwealth states for 2019;

- Plan of priority measures in the field of humanitarian cooperation of the CIS member states for 2019–2020;

- Plan of measures for the implementation of the Agreement (June 1, 2018) on cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Area of Electronic and Electrical Equipment Waste Management;

- Changes to the Agreement on cooperation in the development and use of cellular mobile communication systems of January 17, 1997.
