Uzbekistan national under-23 football team to play against India, Pakistan and Tajikistan

The Olympic Football team of Uzbekistan in the qualifying round of the AFC U-23 Championship will play with India, Pakistan and Tajikistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

In March 2019, the Olympic Football team of Uzbekistan will take part in the qualifying round of the AFC U-23 Championship. The winning team of the qualifying stage will get permission to the Asian Championship 2020, in Thailand.

National teams that take 1-3 places will be granted the chance to participate in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

On November 7, in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, the draw of the qualifying stage of the continental tournament was held. According to the results of the lot, the Uzbek Olympic team are said to play in group "F" against the teams of India, Tajikistan and Pakistan. Qualifying matches will be held on March 22-26, 2019 in Tashkent.

In compliance with the regulations of the AFC, the qualifying stages will be played in 2 regions, in particular, Eastern and Western. The team, that takes the 1st place in the continental groups, goes to the final stage of the Asian Championship. 

It should be noted that total of 16 teams will attend the Championship "Asia-2020".
